Assembly production
In addition to individual stamped and formed parts, Craemer manufactures ready-to-install assemblies. We combine component manufacturing and joining technology in a coordinated production process, taking account of requirements for inspection and further processing.
Our services include welding and clinching, as well as cleaning, washing, and surface coating. We work with qualified partner companies to provide additional finishing and surface treatment processes.
Bringing these services together can reduce the need to coordinate multiple suppliers. Coordinated manufacturing and inspection processes provide the basis for cost-effective serial production and a predictable supply of assemblies.
In-line processes
Additional processing, joining and inspection steps can be integrated into progressive dies or transfer tools, as well as automated production lines. This can eliminate the need for separate workstations and internal transport. Which steps can be combined depends on the component, production volume, and process requirements.
Our production planning takes the following in-line processes into account:
- Thread forming
- Press-fitting nuts, studs and functional components
- Clinching and other mechanical joining processes
- Component marking and process-integrated inspections
Downstream processes such as resistance welding, clinching, and the inspection of critical features can also be integrated into automated production processes.
We plan forming, joining, inspection, and, where applicable, assembly as an integrated process. This can shorten throughput times, simplify material flow, and reduce the manufacturing effort per component. We tailor marking and inspection concepts to quality and traceability requirements.
Supply Chain & Material Handling
Craemer coordinates the procurement of raw materials and purchased parts, as well as the supply of materials for serial production. These include steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, as well as mechanical components and fasteners. Material planning and inventory levels are based on the agreed requirements.
Our procurement and logistics processes encompass supplier management, receiving inspection, inventory management, and the integration of purchased parts into assemblies. We align material flow and production planning with customer orders and delivery releases.
SAP S/4HANA supports order processing, material requirements planning, production control, and warehouse and shipping processes. Shared data supports coordination between procurement, manufacturing and logistics.
We supply parts in accordance with the agreed delivery arrangements. This may include just-in-time and just-in-sequence deliveries. Requirements regarding batch traceability, documentation, and delivery information are agreed on a project-by-project basis.
Toolmaking
Our in-house tool and die making department links development and design with serial production. We develop and manufacture progressive and transfer dies, as well as fixtures and inspection equipment for each production task.
Throughout serial production, we carry out tool servicing, maintenance, and agreed modifications. Experience gained in production feeds into tool optimization and subsequent projects. Direct coordination between tool making and production helps us implement changes and maintain stable serial production processes.
